It is impossible to summarize what I learned and what I hope to take back to my chapter in a few sentences since there is simply so much (I completely filled my provided seminar booklet, with spillover). However, I plan on addressing our current officer board and how we can function more effectively, how we can make recruitment and our brand on campus better, and how we can provide a sense of structure and continuity while transitioning between officer teams, semesters, and academic years.

At Western States Leadership school, I learned the key fundamentals of being a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and a True Gentlemen. I was given the tools and advice to make positive changes not only in my chapter but at my university as well. Going to Western States is a great opportunity to meet brothers from across the west and to establish chapter relations with other schools and universities.

Different regions of the country have different ideas and mindsets that I was able to bring back to Cincinnati. These ideas helped my chapter implement new initiatives and further advance the mission of the Fraternity. Although we are all from different backgrounds, ΣAE’s ideals and values are one that brings us together regardless of region or background. That’s what I really learned at Western States Leadership School.

Western States Leadership School was a great opportunity to bond with my brothers over insightful seminars and to take part in the renowned Las Vegas nightlife. I really enjoyed meeting brothers from chapters far and wide across the country. It was a memorable experience that I would recommend to everyone in Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Being an Ambassador for Western States was an honor. When you go to any of SAE’s leadership schools as a delegate, you take for granted all of the things that are happening behind the scenes to make the event come together. Being one of those behind-the-scenes brothers has its moments, but when everything comes together, it has the power to create a rewarding experience for any brother daring enough to give it a try.
